!!! PHONE SCAM ALERT !!!

There is a telephone scam that is circulating throughout the country.  Members who are targeted are receiving an automated message claiming that their credit union has suspended their VISA card and instructing them to call an 800 number to reactivate the card.  When the consumer calls the number, they are prompted to dial in their account number, expiration date and pin number.  They are then instructed to press "1" to reactivate the card.  Duplicate cards are being created in Spain and used to withdraw cash or make purchases. 

If you receive a telephone call asking you to call the 800 number to reactivate your card, immediately hang up and DO NOT  give out any of your information!

Due to Check 21 there is no float time on checks that you write. Check 21 has been in effect since October 28, 2004. It is a federal law that is designed to enable banks to handle more checks electronically making check processing faster and more efficient. Many stores now process checks at the register, convert your checks to electronic processing and hand you back your check. That check clears that day. Please keep this in mind when writing your checks.

 

On home banking if you set up an immediate transfer from one of your accounts to your checking or any other account you have with us it will be processed that day if done before 6 PM. If processed after that time frame while it says “immediate” it may be processed that day or the next business day. They have two work cycles to get all the processing done. Please make sure you transfer funds to your checking before you write your checks to avoid fees for over-drafting.
